Kathryn’s Work With Adolescents
I love working with teens who are struggling with life. Whether it is struggling with coping with the stress of managing relationships, severe trauma or something else, I love to come alongside my teen clients and empower them to make positive choices, and rise above trauma or fears that keep them from flourishing. I integrate EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness to best meet the needs of each client.
I have primarily worked with adolescents ages 10-18 who suffer from severe or complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, exhibit self-harming behaviors such as cutting and/or suicide attempts, and have a variety of other behavioral issues that they and their families are trying to work through.
I understand that these issues can be scary for both the adolescent and the parents, and I believe in the importance of including parents in the process as much as possible. Too often parents and teens feel as if they are on a battleground and their enemies are each other. I fully believe this is not God’s best for teens and their parents, and I am passionate about bringing parents and their teens to a better place in their relationships.
Issues I work with:
- Teen Issues
- Grief After Suicide
- Spiritual Struggles
