Darren’s Work With Children

If you have these or any other concerns about your child, I would be happy to talk with you to help you determine what the next step might be. I have helped children as young as four yearsof age through adolescents. I have worked with children on the autism spectrum, those with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.

I strive first to build rapport and establish a positive connection with children by engaging in their world. I commonly do this by asking children to bring something with them to the first session that they really enjoy and we have a time of “show and tell”. I enjoy using play therapy, sand tray therapy, art therapy, and (nearly) anything else that helps the child to express themselves, their feelings, and their experience of the world and people around them.
